The Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation is proud to support medical research and the Royal Hobart Hospital through a range of funding opportunities. Our goal is to advance research discoveries while also helping provide the very best equipment and services for patients.
Research grants
Our research grant program provides funding for high-quality clinical and translational projects that aim to improve health outcomes for Tasmanians. In 2025, grants of up to $100,000 were offered, alongside the Luke Cunningham Research Grant dedicated to brain cancer research. Applications for this round have now closed and applicants will be notified of the outcome by mid-December. Check back in 2026 for details for details of the next funding round.
Equipment and Patient Services grants
In addition to research, we are committed to strengthening care at the Royal Hobart Hospital. Through our equipment and patient services grants, we fund the latest equipment and resources that directly benefit patient care at the Royal Hobart Hospital. These grants help provide modern equipment, improve clinical services and enhance the patient experience. Clinicians from the Royal Hobart Hospital can submit an application for funding here.
Stay updated
Future funding opportunities will be shared here and through our newsletters. We encourage interested applicants to check back regularly to stay informed.
